LYSI laboratory in first place in AOCS/GOED proficiency testing of nutraceutical oils

The AOCS (American Oil Chemist Society ) Laboratory Proficiency Program is the world’s most extensive and respected collaborative proficiency testing program for oil- and fat-related commodities, oilseeds, oilseed meals and edible fats.
Hundreds of chemists participate to verify their lab’s quality control, which uses AOCS or similar methods for sample analysis and then compares its results with a large cross-section of other laboratories using the same methods and samples. Dr. Halldorsson heads LYSI laboratory.
One more year LYSI’s laboratory was among the qualified laboratories for Marine Oil, Marine Oil Fatty Acid Profile and GOED Omega-3 Nutraceutical Oils in the 2014-2015 program. In the last category LYSI attained first place in the analytical work with a proficiency index of .53 on 6 samples.
