Vitamin D is beneficial for people who live in the northern hemisphere in wintertime
LYSI‘s best known product through the decades has been Cod Liver Oil, which contains both vitamin A and D, whereas Omega-3 Oil contains no vitamins. Omega-3 differs from Cod Liver Oil in that the level of EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) is higher in Omega-3 Oil while the level of DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) is similar. The new product has added vitamin D and is offered in liquid form in 220 g bottles.
The level of vitamin D in human blood tends to decrease during the darker months for those who live in the far north, so an intake of vitamin D is often recommended by nutritional experts. This is important for healthy teeth and bones, as vitamin D also enhances the body‘s absorption of calcium.
